Anthropologist Marcel Mauss wrote in The Gift that a gift is never just an object. It carries intention, relationships, and the connection between people.
Flowers have long been a language of emotion. They express love, care, remembrance, and well-wishing. They appear in important moments, and they also exist in the most ordinary parts of everyday life.
In Chapter One, we chose fabric-dyed flowers. This choice allows emotion to be translated into a form that can be kept. The focus is on inner feeling, rather than the passing of time.
Each flower carries an emotional meaning that is widely understood. It is a quiet language that continues over time. Through fabric and dye, we allow these emotions to last longer.
